Okay, this is a little belated...but I'm cleared for placement!! I did not expect it to happen this quickly at all. From the time I mailed in my medical packet to the time I was done being evaluated was only 17 days (including weekends!). I woke up on the morning of the 8th to my toolkit notifying me that I was cleared. A day later my file was put on legal hold, as Peace Corps wanted me to file out some additional stuff (personal statement, etc) about a legal incident from a few years ago. I emailed them back the same day and the legal hold was lifted.
On December 12, I was contacted by my placement officer about sending in an updated resume, information about any skills I've acquired, language progress, etc. I emailed him back on the 16th, and that's where I'm at now. :) I'm keeping my fingers crossed that placement goes as smoothly and quickly as the rest of this process has so far. Unfortunately, I haven't started volunteering yet, so that is something I will really have to work on once everything returns to normal after the holidays.
